Double Zuni Canteen with leather strap

The front protrusion Canteen was used to hold water during long pilgrimage, herding sheep, farming and to keep hydrated. This double chamber style canteen was popular between 1879-1884. The corn cob was used as a cork and leather deer hide was also used as a shoulder strap or to hang from a tree.
