Matsaki Medium Polychrome Water Jar

Around the mid 1400's, the production of glazed-decorated, white slipped pottery declined in the Ashiwi villages and was replaced gradually with the production of a buff, white-colored pottery decorated with matt mineral pigments. This adorable Medium to large size Water Jar is decorated with the Matsaki traditional designs that contain rain, snow, clouds, village structures and it's named after one of the ancient Ashiwi villages. Signed, Paloma 8/2022 Zuni, N.M.
