Ma'tsa kya Ko'ko Face Water Jar
From the Matsaki Polychrome (circa 1475-1680+) the production of glaze-decorated, white-slipped pottery declined in the Ashiwi villages and was replaced gradually by the buff-colored pottery decorated with matte mineral paint. This is known as the Matsaki Polychrome. This pottery form is called a Water Jar with the Matsaki Kachina mask motifs, that depict nature movement & Ko'ko symbolic images. This unique medium jar is one of a kind. Signed: PALOMA 2/2024 Zuni, NM
